Emma Button, Senior Artist
Emma joined Dissonance Dance Theatre in 2016. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia where she began her dance training in ballet, modern, and jazz at the Lilburn School of Ballet under the direction of Jennifer B. Gordon. She spent five years as a Senior Company member of the pre-professional company, Northeast Atlanta Ballet. She expanded her experience dancing principal roles such as Clara, Dew Drop, and Sugar Plum Fairy in “The Nutcracker,” Jasmine in Kristy Nilsson’s “Aladdin,” Swanhilda in “Coppelia,” and Cinderella in “Cinderella.” Emma has spent summers training on scholarship with Ballet Austin, Next Generation Ballet, Richmond Ballet, and City Ballet of San Diego. She has also been offered spots in both Richmond Ballet’s and Milwaukee Ballet’s trainee programs. Along with the classical ballets, she enjoyed performing the original contemporary choreography that was set on her and the other dancers throughout the year.
