Heather Carlson, Artist
Heather Carlson joined Dissonance in 2017. She grew up in Rockville, Maryland, where she received her early training from Claudia Mangan and later she trained with the Maryland Youth Ballet from Tensia Fonseca and Michelle Lees. Growing up she also trained with the Joffrey Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Ballet Arizona, American Ballet Theatre, Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, and BalletX. Heather graduated from the University of the Arts with a BFA with Honors in Dance. While at UArts, she was in the Europe Touring Ensemble in France and Belgium where she performed William Forsythe works under the direction of Douglas Becker and Kathryn Swords-Thurman. Heather has performed in Jen McGinn’s work for Counter Pointe 3 Contemporary Ballet festival in Brooklyn, New York.
