Jaylon Givan, Apprentice
Jaylon Givan joined Dissonance in 2017. He is an aspiring artist and native from Birmingham, Alabama. He first started to notice his love for dance when he was thirteen through hip hop. He attended Alabama State University, where he became a part of the first graduating class of their BFA Dance Program; he desires to be a professional dance performer, choreographer, and instructor. Since college, Jaylon has studied Ballet, Jazz, African, Hip Hop, and Modern techniques (mostly Horton). Some of Jaylon’s training experiences has been with the Atlanta Dance Connection, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Kansas City Ballet. He has also guested with Montgomery Ballet, performing Arabian in the Nutcracker and Judas in Messiah. Jaylon recently performed with The Dance Company Experience for their premiere company showcase. Jaylon’s career convincing moment was being chosen as a freshman to represent his school and the southern region at ACDFA Nationals in Washington D.C. held at the Kennedy Center.
