Celebrating 5 Years of Stories
As we tackle life's lessons, we yearn for another to walk with us. Walks in the park, the voice on the other end of a call, a kiss goodnight...human connections is essential for a full life experience. Take My Hand, Before I Go is a narrative of a young gay man and his rite of passage into adult hood. We follow Ben, an attractive Black gay man curious and full of feelings, as he contemplates his romantic feeling through interactions and situations. Take My Hand, Before I Go is presented as the fifth installment of Black To Silver: A Black LGBT Experience (B2S).
Now in its fifth year of production, B2S has assisted in providing positive self-affirming images that offer an encouraging effect on the community's self-image, raising the community's spirit that initializes conversations around favorable change in the LGBT community.
Centered around a character/ensemble framework, Take My Hand, Before I Go sheds light on the simple but complex notion of dating, casual encounter and acceptance. Show performed to the music of Jardin, Janet Jackson, Lykke Li, Rose Royce, Ibeyi, and Leona Lewis.
